Royalty payments

Royalty payments are what is given to the writer, musician etc. This payment is dependent on the number of books in the case of a writer and number of records in the case of musicians that have been sold. This is payed from the company to the writer or the musician or to the licensee to the licensor. This is like a payment slip for their work. The agreement of a royalty payment is that the company have out going use of the record or book and can produce as many copies as they want. The licensee is entitle to a percentage of that. This total or percentage is based on the total gross sells. For example the number of cd’s sold the musician will get a percentage and will continue to get that percentage as long as the cd is selling.
